Decennial Celebration-Media Sagra (13,14 and 15 of January 2014)
Welcome to the dazzling world of Media Sagra, conducted by St Joseph College of Communication, an organ of Media Village. We, the SJCC-ians, invite you to be a part of Media Sagra, our envisioned mega event.
As a part of celebrating ten successful years of dedicated service, we have decided to conduct numerous events which brighten our eyes and pleases our ears like an award night, Competitions, Intercollegiate Fest and many more attractions in the three rosy days.
The official inauguration of the Media Sagra will be led by the renowned artists such as Kanayi Kunhiraman, Babu Janardhanan, Nemom Pushparaj and Manakadu Chandran along with thirty artists including the teachers and selected students. They will initiate the function by drawing in a canvas. Its first of its kind in Kerala. There will be a DJ night lead by VDJ Charles, the club musician, who is specialized in bhangra and commercials who plays the whole spectrum of all music and dance starting from hip hop. So be ready to get the audio visual experience.
In the second day there will be an inauguration of National Short Film Festival by Dr. Dharmenda Jai Narain popularly called D. J. Narain, the current director of FTII. A known name in the field of music, theatre, films and publishing, Narain is the front person and lead singer cum-composer of renowned pop and rock bamd "the Aryans". The year 2013 was celebrated as a centenary milestone to showcase the filmic heritage of the Indian film and the 75 years of Malayalam Cinema. Along with this, St Joseph College of Communication is celebrating its ten years. As a part of this celebration the college is planning to conduct a ceremony of delivering SJCC Media Award and the award will be given to Shri. Madhu; director and producer and was a prominent lead actor during 60s and 70s. Ministers such as Shri. Kodikkunnil Suresh, Shri. K.C Joseph, Priyadarshan; the Indian film director, producer and screen writer, Shri. Rasool Pookutty, Shri P Balachandran, Kanayi Kunhiraman and the actor Siddharth Shiva.
A media seminar will be there in the third day. Mr. Thomas Jacob, the director of Editorial Board of Malayala Manorama , Mr. Gouridasan Nair, Associate Editor and Bureau Chief Kerala The Hindu, Prof. ScariaZakharia, Retd. Prof. Sree Sankara University Kalady, Mr. C.S Venkiteswaran the film critic, Mr. N.P Rajendran, the Chairman, Kerala Press Academy and the Deputy Editor of Mathrubhumi. Seminar topics will be Contemporary trends in Media, Comtemporary Trends in Print Media, Media and Education, Media and Visual Communication and the Contemporary trends in New Media.
